meet the founder
Grace Carter founded The Platform in 2024 after realising there was a gap in the market - or should we say, a gap in the stories being told.
In the board rooms of the bigger streaming services - the ones where the decision-making rooms are filled - with decision-makers of a certain gender, ethnicity and sexual persuasion (we’re not making any assumptions here, obviously… but you do the maths!) - people simply aren’t commissioning documentaries on the thorny, taboo topics - the ones that generally affect the minorities.
Periods. Menopause. Racial discrimination. Pregnancy. Miscarriage. Entrepreneurship as a woman. Juggling a career and motherhood. Reclaiming your sexuality. There are many stories just waiting to be told. We’re here to do it. As the year progresses, we will continue adding to our portfolio of documentaries. Thank you for your support.
